Initial stakeholder engagement and Inception meeting in Yumbe district.
With support from UKAID, the National Association for Women’s Action in Development (NAWAD) has started the implementation of a clean cooking energy solutions project in Bidibidi. An initial stakeholder engagement and inception meeting was held on 20th June, 2024 at the convening hall, the Education District Hall to commence the project officially.
Activity venue
Attendees: The total number of attendees of the meeting were 60 for the 1 day respectively. The participants of this meeting included; representatives from the Office of the Prime Minister, development partners i.e. UNHCR, District officials, RWCs, NAWAD and the host community.

Objectives of the activity.
Objective 1: To introduce the project to stakeholders and identify briquette production centre sites, potential collaborations, community linkages for briquette raw material sources, and their acquisition channels at the refugee settlement and host community;
Objective 2: To create awareness and understanding of the project objectives, design and implementation modalities among key stakeholders and solicit their views and buy-in;
Objective 3: To identify relevant stakeholders and their roles in the project, and agreement on collaborative actions and responsibilities.
The project initial inception meeting and stakeholder engagement was a success, where stakeholders committed to the project journey of providing alternative cooking solutions ahead. This initiative is a key part of our broader efforts to support refugee communities and foster sustainable development in Yumbe district.
