NAWAD's current programs follow two thematic areas of Agriculture and Women's Economic Empowerment, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, and a cross-cutting area of Climate and Social Justice
National Association for Women’s Action in Development (NAWAD) plays a crucial role in advancing environmental and gender justice.
Agriculture and Women's Economic Empowerment:
1,000 Women’s Gardens for Health and Nutrition (1000WG)
Through organic home and community gardens, women improve household nutrition, generate income, strengthen climate resilience, and become leaders in building healthier communities.
Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights:
Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) for Young Mother Gardeners
Supporting adolescent mothers with sexual and reproductive health education, organic gardening, livelihoods, peer support, and rights awareness so they can build independent and hopeful futures for themselves and their children.
