Our Programs

NAWAD is excited to announce the integration of two significant programs from the Rwenzori Region of Western Uganda, henceforth forming the core of its Women’s Economic Empowerment strategic area of action.

Two Programs. One Vision.

NAWAD is strengthening women’s economic empowerment through integrated programs that connect agriculture, nutrition, climate resilience, health and personal empowerment.

Program One

1,000 Women’s Gardens for Health and Nutrition (1000WG)

Through organic home and community gardens, women improve household nutrition, generate income, strengthen climate resilience, and become leaders in building healthier communities.

Support a Woman. Grow a Garden. Strengthen a Family

Your support can help women establish and sustain organic gardens that improve household nutrition, generate income and build resilience to climate change. Together, we can help more women turn small gardens into pathways toward greater self-reliance and stronger families.

Program Two

Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) for Young Mother Gardeners

Supporting adolescent mothers with sexual and reproductive health education, organic gardening, livelihoods, peer support, and rights awareness so they can build independent and hopeful futures for themselves and their children.

Invest in a Young Mother. Empower a Brighter Future.

Your support helps young mothers access knowledge, peer support, organic gardening skills and opportunities to build more secure livelihoods. By investing in young mothers today, we help them care for their children, pursue their dreams and move toward greater self-reliance.
