NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR WOMEN ACTION IN DEVELOPMENT this year 2019 joins the rest of the world to commemorate International Women\u2019s Day (IWD) 2019. This day is held on March 8th every year. It\u2019s a day when we celebrate the amazing social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women \u2013 while also campaigning for greater progress towards gender equality.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0theme for International Women\u2019s Day\u00a0(8 March) this year is \u201cThink Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change\u201d, which puts innovation by\u00a0women\u00a0and girls, for\u00a0women\u00a0and girls, at the heart of efforts to achieve gender equality.<\/p>\n
In partnership with local women groups and local leaders, NAWAD has organized a community women\u2019s dialogue in Western Uganda basically to discuss plans to strengthen the eco feminist movement among NAWAD women groups. The dialogue is also intended to demonstrate how valuable women are to the economy.<\/p>\n
We will spend the whole afternoon reflecting on women\u2019s issues and most importantly the value of women coming together and working together for development.<\/p>\n
Women will take this opportunity also to discuss ways of becoming more innovative as means to fight poverty in their communities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
